What is a mini split, in plain words?
An outdoor unit and one or more indoor heads, connected by a small line set. No ducts, and each head runs on its own.
Will a mini split heat as well as cool?
Yes. The same unit reverses for heat, which is what makes it a fit for Central Texas winters.
Can you add one without redoing the ductwork?
That is usually the point. A garage, addition or converted attic gets its own zone with a small penetration and a line set.
Do you service mini splits you did not install?
Yes, including filter and coil cleaning, refrigerant checks and board faults.
One room thatnever gets comfortable?
A mini split usually solves it without touching the ductwork.
